On my recent trip to Australia for a month, I wanted to squeeze in as many bird photography sessions as possible.
My best friend and his family invited me on a long trip to one of the best places in Australia to take photos of hard to find bird species: O’Reilly’s in south Queensland.
I was there from 28 June – 1 July and managed to see some of my favourite birds ever, including Pacific Emerald Dove, Crimson Rosellas, Albert’s Lyrebird, Green Catbirds, Regent Bowerbirds, Superb Fairywrens and many more.

While there, I explored many great places to photograph birds near the O’Reilly’s campgrounds and day usage area. Some must-visit trails include Python Rock and Morans Fall, the Botanical Gardens and the Treetop walk.
