Red-capped Robin and an unexpected guest!

Last Sunday, I embarked on an exciting birdwatching adventure at the Kumbartcho Sanctuary in Brisbane, with my sights set on spotting the elusive Red-capped Robin (new lifer). This beautiful bird is usually found over 6 hours away from Brisbane, but much to my delight, a pair had ventured down to the sanctuary. In fact, did you know that it’s the most photographed bird in Queensland? Check out the stunning images of the male and female below!

But the surprises didn’t stop there! I also had the pleasure of spotting the Shining Bronze Cuckoo, a new species for me, and the Scarlet Myzomela, a gorgeous honeyeater in full breeding plumage. The sanctuary was teeming with life, with lush greenery and tall trees as far as the eye could see.

I would like to give a special shoutout to Colbert Cheung (Instagram), who took me out to the sanctuary and helped make this experience possible. Thank you for reading my blog, and I hope you have a great day ahead!
