My first “proper” trip to Toohey Forest on the 9th of July was definetely what I’d call a success. I found 24 species on my short trip and got great photos of most.
It was awesome to get some photos of an Eastern Spinebill and a pair of Spotted Pardalotes. The Red-Backed Fairywren came almost too close so that I couldn’t focus.
If you decide on coming to Toohey Forest, definitely check out the Toohey Ridge Track. This is where I found most of the species were at a good range for photography especially when the grass trees are flowering.
